Dr. Cary D. Alberstone, MD FACS

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Alberstone graduated from University High School in West Los Angeles, 1980. He has matriculated from the University of California at Riverside (B.A., Biology, 1984), the University of Southern California (M.A., Historical Musicology, 1986), Harvard University (M.A., History of Science, 1989), and Albany Medical College (M.D. with Distinction in Research, 1991). After eleven years of undergraduate and graduate education, Dr. Alberstone completed eight years of post graduate training at Duke University Hospital, Stanford University Hospital, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and the University of New Mexico Medical Center.

He has conducted the private practice of Neurosurgery in Ventura County since 1999.

Dr. Alberstone’s Textbook

 

An accomplished writer, Dr. Alberstone is the author of numerous book chapters and articles, and the lead author of a widely used textbook in neuroanatomy and neurologic diagnosis, Anatomic Basis of Neurological Diagnosis. Winner of the Independent Book Publishers Association’s Benjamin Franklin Silver Award, the textbook has been translated into Japanese, Turkish and Portuguese.

A second edition of this well-received book is in production, and Dr. Alberstone is in the planning stages of publishing another study on neurological diagnosis.
